Features Added in Previous Quarters

Raptor Loopback: added checks for MTASTS and BIMI protocols

We have improved the Raptor Loopback to check for MTASTS (Mail Transfer Agent Strict Transport Security) and BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) protocols as part of the email hygiene checks.

Addition of 4tld support

Apache Spamassassin now supports 4tld level checks so we are now able to properly check and flag URIs that might be obfuscating behind greater numbers of subdomains.

Improved code to check for redirectors

During January 2026, we improved our code to check for redirectors that are within emails to better protect against spammers attempting to hide their domain inside a redirection.

Tip of the Quarter

Information Security shouldn't be reactive, have a plan.

Today, we see data breaches, receive scam phone calls, and generally deal with a larger amount of bad actors trying to obtain our data or compromise accounts.

Drafting an initial response plan for security breaches is important. It avoids emotionally charged reactions with steps to work through things logically.

Why logically? Simply put, almost all scams RELY on triggering an emotional response. They WANT an emotional response NOT a logical one.

Believe it or not, just having an incident plan that says: "We don't have a plan for this," can be good. The number one phrase we want to avoid is, "10 seconds later, I knew I shouldn't have done that."

What incidents have you had in the past year? Don't focus on 100 year plans like a pandemic. Write up plans for real issues and lessons learned to start your incident plans.
